Dr. Wayne Laney’s

Dr. Wayne Laney’s journey into chiropractic care wasn’t fueled by a lifelong ambition to work in the healthcare field. In fact, when he embarked on this path 43 years ago, his knowledge of chiropractic was minimal. His decision was deeply personal, rooted in a life-changing event that occurred in 1969. Following a severe car accident, Dr. Laney and his then-fiancee faced significant injuries. His fiancee, in particular, suffered from chronic pain due to serious whiplash, leading them down an unexpected path.

The turning point came when a renowned orthopedist recommended a laminectomy for Mrs. Laney. However, Dr. Laney’s uncle, a chiropractor in Alabama, intervened, suggesting a different approach. This recommendation led Mrs. Laney to undergo treatment with him and Dr. Roy Sweat in Atlanta, the founder of the Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic program. This experience was transformative; Mrs. Laney’s pain significantly decreased, and she was able to stop her pain medications.

Inspired by his wife’s recovery, Dr. Laney pursued chiropractic studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic, following in his uncle’s footsteps. His career took him from Washington to South Carolina, where he became the Health Center director at Sherman College and later founded Upstate Spine and Wellness, LLC.

Dr. Laney’s practice is distinguished by the Atlas Orthogonal percussion instrument, a method that allows for precise, painless upper cervical corrections. This technique has not only set his practice apart but has also enabled him to help thousands regain their quality of life. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Laney is one of the foremost experts in Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic, a field he was drawn to by the desire to restore lives as his wife’s was restored. His success stories, ranging from young patients regaining mobility to those overcoming systemic health challenges, underscore his belief in the transformative power of chiropractic care and divine intervention.
